Q: How long do these InterACTIVE CHURCH Services last?

A: The Sunday church service portion of our teleconferece lasts about an hour. Wednesday Testimony Meeting teleconferences also last about one hour.

Q: Do I need a computer to participate in the InterACTIVE CHURCH Service?

A: No, you can participate simply by calling in on your phone. Having the Order of Service page up on your internet browser during the service and discussion will enhance the experience, but it is not required. So, you may share the conference call phone number and access code with friends and family who do not have access to the interent.

Q: Do I need special telephone equipment or conferencing features on my phone to participate?

A: No, you may use any phone. No conferencing features or any other special features are required. The following list of items ARE helpful, however:

  • If your phone has a "mute" button it is helpful to keep your phone on "mute" until you wish to speak or sing hymns as this helps to reduce background noise.
  • Headsets - if you are calling in using a cell phone, cordless phone, or using "SkypeOut™" from your computer, a headset will possibly make your experience more enjoyable.
  • Speaker Phones - if you can put your phone on "speaker" mode, it will keep you from having to hold the receiver to your ear, and, if there are more than one of you in the same location, you will all be able to hear.

Q: Do I have to be a Christian Science church member to participate?

A: No, ANYONE is invited to attend InterACTIVE CHURCH!

Q: How many people can attend each InterACTIVE CHURCH Service?

A: We can have up to 100 participants at each service.

Q: Calling the Conference phone number is a long distance call. How can I access the InterACTIVE CHURCH Service at a reasonable rate?

A: The list below provides you with possible solutions:

  • FREE CELL (MOBILE) PHONE MINUTES

  • LONG DISTANCE CALLING CARDS - try the 99¢ Stores for a $0.01 per minute calling card. [click here for their web site]
  • Lingo Broadband Phone Service
LINGO - If you live in the USA and have a broadband internet connection, this is the service for you!
Lingo is a "VOIP" (voice over internet protocol click here for article from FCC) technology. For a flat $19.95/month charge, you are able to make all of your local calls, calls to anywhere in the USA and Canada AND calls to 17 countries in western Europe AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE AND WITH NO MINUTE RESTRICTIONS! The Lingo box connects to your broadband modem via a router and you use your regular phones. Automatically comes with tons of features like voice mail, call forwarding, call waiting, caller ID, conference calling. (This is the service I use.) If you sign up for this service, please mention you were referred by Mark Mohlenbrock, eMail address mark@csdirectory.com and YOU and I (CSDirectory.com) will both receive a $25 credit on our bills after you've been signed up for 90 days. Its an easy way to contribute to this project! Plus, currently, the first month is free.

  • For other VOIP options, see article with links from National Public Radio (USA). Click here for article from FCC

  • SKYPE - Skype is a FANTASTIC "peer to peer" telephony service for the internet and is FREE (when you talk computer to computer). This allows you to "Skype" (call) another Skype user and talk to them through your computer. (I use this service too.) Skype works best with a headset - and there are many to choose from (Click here for a good place to buy a headset below list price). You can also "SkypeOut" which means you can call a regular phone number from your computer using Skype. You add money to your SkypeOut account using your credit card and then your SkypeOut phone calls are debited against your balance. www.skype.com
